One is a "flurry of fire" iirc the name and it quickly summons 6 small fire orbs following your cursor and dealing fire damage and debuffs to enemies they explode upon. *For example I have two level 3 wands at the moment. Wands are generally "summon thing, damage thing follow your cursor afterward" done in a variety of fashions whereas stave have similar effect but also secondary abilities tied to the right mouse button(I think I've spotted and energy shield effect that also doubled as an healing aura). There's also new wands(1 hand) and staves(2-hands) weapons which deal a variety of effect. You can even outfit said pets with special collars meant to further their abilities.Įlemental damages are in for various weapons: Fire and Poison add a DoT over time debuff iirc, cold unsurprisingly slow down enemies and lighting periodically causes electrified debuff enemies to "jolt" with electricity and cause occasional light damages to their nearby allies. If that's not an option either is there some way to focus on DoT effects (preferably something self spreading)? I just like to put my stuff up and rather manage my damage if you so want than actually fight with a sword/bow/gun/seensomecrazyshitintrailers.Īs people said, an actual pet capture system is already in the game. Is there an option to play something that doesn't rely on dealing direct damage? I would prefere real pets that do the fighting for me but "pseudo-pets" that are essentially just AI controlled damage orbs are fine as well. Some water down the hill Starbound 1.0 is about to hit the market and I am very interested to try it and hope that I will have a good time with it as, again, I loved Terraria but Starbound seems to be very different yet similar enough so that I can feel at least a little at home. So this story might sound familiar but I love Terraria, took a look at Starbound a while ago and then pretty much forgot about it because it was a little unpolished at the time and Terraria was simply the better option for my preferences.
